The Muldoon Family

Greg McGee knows firsthand the devastating effects a disease like Alzheimer’s has on a family. Both his mother and father passed from the disease in 2016 and 2018, respectively. McGee, together with partner Ryan Moore wanted to use that precious experience with Alzheimer’s to give to those suffering through similar circumstances. So in their effort to give back in a more impactful and meaningful way, Retirement Solutions Group (RSG) partnered with Gradient Financial Group to give 12 months’ worth of rent or mortgage payments to a recipient who has been touched by Alzheimer’s.

Cathy Muldoon submitted her application and the kindred spirits went to work. Cathy’s husband had been diagnosed with vascular dementia after suffering from a severe stroke. Cathy said, ““I tried keeping him at home, but it became impossible to do because I had to have 24/7 help, and that’s hard to find.” After her husband moved in to a long term care facility, Cathy decided to volunteer there and help support other caretakers.

Greg explained, “We knew right away that this woman was, one, spending down her assets and two, is helping visit other folks besides just helping take care of her husband.”

RSG called Cathy in to share the good news. Cathy was the sixth recipient across the country to receive this generosity according to Gradient Financial Group. RSG wants to continue providing this charitable giving locally.
