Greg serves as a Paraplanner and Investment Advisor Representative at our firm. Born in Puerto Rico and having spent much of his upbringing in Beijing, China, Greg brings a diverse perspective to his role. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Middle Tennessee State University and a Certificate in Financial Planning from the University of Georgia. Greg has also successfully completed the CFP® Exam, demonstrating his commitment to financial excellence.
Outside of work, Greg is passionate about staying active. He enjoys playing sports, hiking, and is deeply involved in his community through coaching wrestling and soccer at both the high school and middle school levels.
Originally from Michigan, Norm earned his degree at Wayne State University in Music Industry Management and Business. Since moving to Tennessee with his family in 2004, Norm has worked exclusively in the Medicare field. He has 18 years experience as the Senior Market Manager at Humana for the central and west Tennessee region before joining RSG. In addition to hiring, coaching, and managing a sales team, Norm was also involved in shaping Medicare plan development for the state. According to Norm, “My corporate experience with a successful organization was really satisfying, but the best part really comes down to helping each customer find the right plan for their individual needs. I explain and simplify Medicare so that customers can feel confident in their choices.”
Norm and his family live in Franklin, Tennessee and are part of the their church’s music ministry.
David’s practice focuses on family wealth preservation, which includes estate planning, estate tax planning, and asset protection planning. David helps clients and their families create plans to protect the family wealth from “outsiders” such as creditors, ex-spouses and divorcing in-laws. Additionally, David’s advises clients on reducing their potential estate tax liability. Many of David’s plans combine asset protection planning, estate tax savings and planning for the family’s future generation. David also advises families with business succession issues, pre-marital agreements and charitable planning.
As an extension of his estate planning practice, David also handles the probate and administration of estates and trusts after an individual’s death and represents beneficiaries when controversies arise between family members. David can also help with conservatorship and guardian issues if a person becomes incapacitated.
Originally from Clinton, Iowa, Julie Hurst graduated from Mount St. Clare College and began moving around the country, living in 10 states over 13 years before finally settling in Tennessee in 2000 where she fell in love with the area.
Julie quickly began working in the Williamson County School system until she was recruited by the CEO of a Real Estate company to be the Executive Assistant to the CEO and the Office Administrator, a position she held for over 18 years. She is excited to join Retirement Solutions Group and bring her skills to a new level with a great team.

Tom Elmlinger has been helping Tennesseans with their legal needs since 1986. He handles clients’ Estate Planning and Probate needs, including drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, living wills and forming family limited partnerships and family LLC’s. In addition, Tom assists clients with settling estates and establishing and maintaining conservatorships and guardianships. Tom Elmlinger is a graduate of the University of Tennessee School of Law where he was on the Dean’s List and Law Review. With substantial law firm and corporate experience, he has been meeting the legal needs of individuals in Middle Tennessee for over thirty years.
With accessible offices in the Westgate Center in Brentwood, Tom is able to meet with clients both in his office, or, when necessary, in their homes. He is a long-time member of the Tennessee Bar Association and the Williamson County Bar Association. When he is not practicing law, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons and volunteering with the Boy Scouts, at his church and for various charities benefiting the homeless.

Nathan Abbott brings 25 years of accounting and tax preparation experience. He is committed to helping clients understand their tax situation and proud to provide exemplary customer service and industry knowledge.
Nathan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration of Accounting from Freed-Hardeman’s University. He holds the Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation, along with the Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and Enrolled Agent (EA) Designation. As an Enrolled Agent Nathan can represent clients in front of the IRS. Nathan enjoys spending time with his lovely wife Amy and his twin girls Sophie and Ellie, in their spare time he and his family enjoy dressing up as Mr. and Mrs. Claus for the months of November and December.
Michael is a native of Nashville. He is received his undergraduate degree in Accountancy from Auburn University and a Master’s in Business Administration with a focus in Accounting from Tennessee Tech. University. Michael has worked in public accounting for the past 13 years and has gained experience as a tax partner with his former firm. Michael takes a proactive approach with his tax clients focusing on tax planning and strategy for both short and long-term. This is accomplished by working closely with his clients to help strategically maximize their tax savings based on their goals.
Michael lives in Nashville and has two children, Hayes, and Mirren. He enjoys spending his free time coaching his son’s baseball team, going to Hockey practices, hiking, or just being outdoors with the kids.
Matt Bryant joined Gradient Investments in early 2011. As a Senior Investment Consultant he partners with independent investment advisors to assist them and their clients with investment analysis and portfolio selection. Matt supports a select group of advisors throughout the country who are focused on serving clients through Gradient’s proprietary, fee-based investment solutions. Matt focuses his efforts on keeping his advisor and clients informed on the pertinent information that affects the investment markets. Matt holds his Series 65 and is a graduate of the University of Kansas with BAs in Economics, Political Science, an International Studies.
Keith Gangl, CFA®, serves as a portfolio manager for Gradient Investments, LLC. Gangl brings over 22 years of institutional investment management experience to Gradient Investments. Gangl has a long successful track record of investment performance through various market cycles and has extensive knowledge of equity markets.
Prior to Gradient, Gangl worked as a senior portfolio manager for over 18 years covering various asset styles and market capitalizations for Thrivent Financial. He was on a team overseeing several billion dollars in assets. Gangl while managing the fund twice won a Lipper Leader Award, which is given to a fund that excels in providing consistent strong risk-adjusted performance relative to their peers. As a senior portfolio manager, he developed and oversaw the tactical investment strategies utilized within mutual funds, variable annuities, pension funds and insurance company products. These investment processes included proprietary portfolio construction strategies, security selection metrics and volatility controlled parameters. Gangl helped start and develop the quantitative department improving portfolio construction and risk monitoring tools.
Gangl graduated from St. John’s University earning a Bachelor of Arts in Math and Computer Science. He received his Master of Business Administration graduate degree from the University of St. Thomas. Gangl is a CFA® and a member of the Twin Cities Society of Security Analysts.

Jeremy Bryan, Chartered Financial Analyst®, serves as portfolio manager for Gradient Investments, and brings over 15 years of investment experience to the team. Prior to joining Gradient Investments, Bryan spent several years working with investment advisors and their clients to design and manage investment portfolios. His in-depth knowledge of the private client market, along with his expertise in asset allocation, investment analysis and risk assessment gives him a unique perspective into the investment markets.
Bryan worked as an equity analyst at Deephaven Capital Management in Minneapolis and Surveyor Capital in New York City. Most recently, he was an equity portfolio manager at Alerus Financial in Minneapolis, where he oversaw more than $2 billion of assets under management.
Bryan was born and raised in Minnesota. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance from St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, Minnesota and his master’s degree from the University of St. Thomas in Minneapolis. Bryan earned his CFA designation in 2010 and is a member of CFA Institute. He also remains actively involved with the CFA Society of Minnesota.
Mariann has 20 plus years of working with both institutional and high net worth clients and has amassed a strong breadth of investment experience in her tenure. This experience includes company and industry sector analysis, risk monitoring and portfolio management in both the equity and fixed income markets. She is highly attuned to economic and market conditions, and has extensive experience selecting individual stocks, ETFs and mutual funds. In addition to being a CFA, she is a member of both the CFA Society of Minnesota and the CFA Institute. Mariann’s media highlights include quotes in Barron’s, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, NPR, Washington Post and the Chicago Tribune. She has also appeared on Bloomberg TV and Fox Business News.
Mike brings over 24 years of institutional equity investment experience to Gradient Investments and its affiliated advisors and clients. He has extensive experience working directly with financial advisors designing and actively managing portfolios. Mike has successfully invested in numerous market and economic cycles giving him a level and depth of experience that is rare in this industry. He spent more than 20 years at Thrivent Financial where he managed numerous equity funds through various economic cycles. Mike’s media highlights include numerous appearances, providing market insight on CNBC, Bloomberg TV and Bloomberg Radio.
Mike has also been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Smart Money, Reuters, Business Week and numerous other local, national and global investment publications.
Before moving to Franklin, Katherine received her Business Administration degree from Indian River State College. She moved to Tennessee in July 2019 and has been with Retirement Solutions Group since 2020. Katherine grew up with two older brothers and a younger sister in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Over the last few years, two of her siblings have made the move to Tennessee, as well as her parents who just retired to the Cookeville area. Katherine was married in June 2023 to her husband Dalton and the two just welcomed their first child Oliver in May 2024. Katherine enjoys exploring hiking trails, investigating unique local coffee shops and spending time with her family.
Chelsea Moore was educated at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Originally from Lake Tahoe, California she has lived in the Franklin area since 1997. Chelsea has been in finance for the entirety of her career, working as the CFO of the No. 1 real estate franchise in Chattanooga currently topping $1 billion in sales. After 4 fulfilling years at Warner Music Group on Music Row she has recently transitioned to work alongside her husband, Ryan Moore, and business partner Greg McGee.
Chelsea is the mother of four children and a devoted member at her local church. Chelsea has a heart for volunteer work, specifically for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She has worked to organize grants for the wishes of children with a life-threatening medical condition. Her passion for children is at the heart of throwing ‘wish parties’, a party that organizes the reveal of a child’s wish.

Mr. Moore’s primary function as Principal of RSG is Legacy Plan Design as well as providing advice on various lines of insurance including Healthcare, Annuities and advanced Life Insurance planning for the purpose of Tax Advantaged and Long-Term Care alternatives.
Ryan holds a business management degree from Northwood University in Palm Beach, Florida, where he was a four-year scholarship athlete. He holds Life and Health Insurance Licenses in the state of Tennessee that enable him to offer a variety of financial products. Through the National Association of Certified Fiduciaries, Ryan maintains a Certified Financial Fiduciary (CFF) designation.
Ryan has been featured in several articles and has been invited to speak to his peers at industry conferences over the years. Additionally, he has conducted hundreds of client workshops informing pre-retirees and retirees on a variety of topics including: Income for Life Strategies, Maximizing Social Security Benefits, and Understanding the ABC’s of Medicare, to name a few.
Ryan also works with Elder Law attorneys to help his clients with Extended Care decisions and Probate Avoidance. Through the National Institute of Estate Planners, Ryan maintains a Certified Estate Planner (CEP) designation.
Ryan works with industry-leading companies to help empower him to assist clients in creating more income for retirement, as well as preserving more of their assets.
As a member of the American Financial Education Alliance (AFEA), Ryan gives back to his local community by providing free educational workshops in surrounding Universities and Libraries. AFEA is recognized as a 501(c)3 Non-profit charitable organization who goal is to help end financial illiteracy in America. Ryan also enjoys coaching youth sports and spending time with his wife and 4 children.
Greg McGee has been instrumental in shaping the financial lives of his client base in the southeast region for over a decade. Greg gained his financial planning experience as an associate at the premier financial planning firm, Lincoln Advisors. Greg’s father, Forrest McGee, is a lifelong industry advisor lending the knowledge and experience to Greg as a child and into the development of his career. Prior to Greg’s career in the financial services industry, he worked as an executive in the cable industry. Greg rounded out his service of 20 years as the President of a company he sold before aligning with his father’s elite practice.
Mr. McGee’s primary function as Principal of RSG is Chief Compliance Officer as well as Investment Advisor Representative for financial planning and advisory services. Greg works directly with Gradients Investments, RSG’s unaffiliated 3rd party money manager, to help select the appropriate investment recommendations to assist clients in meeting their long term financial objectives.
Greg is regularly featured in the American Lifestyle Magazine offering guidance on the ever-changing landscape of the financial services world. Greg was instrumental in developing a bid contract for the plan sponsored 457 Retirement Plan that assisted the Local County School System. He went on to win that contract for the Local County School System and was featured in the Williamson Herald praising his efforts on the vast development for educators.
Greg was educated at U.T. Martin and Middle Tennessee State University. He has a compelling passion for music that led him to major in classical guitar and minor in business management. Greg holds his pilot’s license and genuinely enjoys the skies whenever he has the opportunity.
Greg and his two sons have made Tennessee their home since 1973. Greg personally funded and operated a Christian non-profit camp for underprivileged children. It was there that Greg fully embodied his passion for facilitating the guidance of others to better themselves and create a lifestyle worth living. This is what lies at the heart of his business today. Greg is a long-standing member of the National Ethics Bureau and accredited with the Better Business Bureau.
